MARCONI BASEBALL
FALL TRAINING PROGRAM
What:
Our Fall training is designed to develop and improve skills and confidence. Our approach is that the Fall Training particpants get to touch the ball, throw the ball and field the ball 100’s of times per week as well as learn baserunning skills, gameplay situations, compete in drills vs teammates and much more.
This is a 4 week program run by Stars Coaches and Texas Rangers Pitcher John Matthews (when he gets done playing professionally in early September)
Training days twice a week and possible instrasquad as well (on Sundays) depending on numbers and ages (we have had enough players at the HS level the past two years to intrasquad)
This is individual based with a limited number of spots (we have had 40-50 kids the last couple years). Individual development is our focus, there is some team play aspects but mainly focused on individual progression
Where:
LOCATION TBA (the last couple years we used Keyser Park in Cuyahoga Falls)
Possible hitting night at our facility in Stow for one of the practices as well
Especially if weather is an issue.
Training Days are 1 weeknight and 1 weekend day for 2 hours
If we intrasquad it would be at the tail end of the Sunday practice (ie. 1 hour practice and 1-2 hour intrasquad)
Days/Times:
Thursday Night (5:30-7:30) and Sunday Mornings 10:00 Start (end time depends on Intrasquad possibility but no longer than 2.5-3 hours total)
September 8th Start Date - October 6th End date
Who:
This is for all ages. We group players by age and teach based on those age groups.
(we utilize two fields to give us plenty of space for everyone to get work in)
Cost:
$199 covers 9 training dates and any Instrasquad we may be able to do
Why Do We Do This Training Vs Just Playing Games
Fall Leagues/Games are not very productive and in some cases counterproductive (imagine playing 1 game a week, fielding one ground ball in that game and getting three at bats). Our philosophy of practicing/training more is the best and quickest way to develop your individual skills and talents (Colleges and Professionals will practice/train more than double the amount of games they play!)
Players who do the Fall training will touch the ball more than 1000 times over the course of the Training Sessions versus traveling to a field to stand around in a less than desirable fall game getting little to no work in and even less coaching in most cases. Players will either learn many new drills, mechanics or approaches to development or they will have their current skill sets reinforced and built upon with proper coaching and training.
If you are serious about getting better and developing your talents and skills and learn from people who have coached or played in College and in some of our coaches cases professional baseball, then this makes sense for you! We are trying to help prepare players for HS and College and in the ever competitive youth sports world, this can either catch you up to the competition or give you a leg up on the competition!
Upon registering, we will send an email out to all participants before the training sessions start with more detailed information.
