Marconi Baseball is owned by Alex Marconi, a local Saint Vincent Saint Mary graduate who played baseball at Kent State, was drafted by the Tampa Rays in 2000 and started his collegiate coaching career in 2005 with the UNC Tarheels. He coached at Ball State University for 7 years and was the Cardinals Head Coach for two of those years. He finished his collegiate coaching career with a 5 year stint at Kent State ending after the 2017 season. Coach Marconi has been doing lessons since he was a professional baseball player 20 years ago. The Marconi Baseball Academy believes in having QUALIFIED people instructing the game of baseball. All of the instructors have played Collegiate Baseball and many have played or are currently playing professionally!
Our goal at Marconi Baseball Academy is to help players develop in all areas of baseball. Help learn proper mechanics, body movements, and mental approach through ongoing learning. Here at Marconi Baseball Academy we use the knowledge of our coaches and technology to improve our players.
The drills, skills and gameplay "approaches" being taught in all our lessons are taken straight from professional baseball or Division 1 college baseball. They are taught by people who have used these drills and have taught these drills at the college and professional level. Our approach is a "customized" system of lessons within a streamlined set of principles. We teach drills, mechanics and approaches that have been taught with success for many years. Every player is different, every swing is different! We will have an individual player plan for each player to record their strengths and weaknesses.
Our Mission
Our mission at Marconi Baseball Academy is to teach and develop every aspect of the game. To evolve and grow as a teammate on and off the field. To understand and learn the mental game.
Come join the Marconi Baseball Academy family!
